Build foundational qualitative interviewing skills in this expertly-crafted course.

Developed in collaboration with Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research, this course introduces new qualitative interviewers to the concepts behind effective qualitative interviewing skills, with a focus on semi-structured interviews. Learn about what makes good data, essential interviewer skills, and tips and tricks for keeping an interview on track. Examples interviews are provided in the form of fictionalized excerpts and videos. Learners will come away from this course with resource sheets to refer back to for phrasing future interview questions and setting up remote interviews.

Note: learners new to qualitative interviewing are encouraged to complete the Designing an Interview Guide course prior to starting this course.
